A Christmas gift with a ‘difference’

There’s no doubt this year has been a tough one for many, so when Eview Group’s Co-founder, Arthur Proios recognised an opportunity to help make one deserving family’s Christmas that little bit better, he pounced.

Deciding to ‘gift’ a no-longer company required Suzuki Swift, Arthur worked in conjunction with Frankston-based businesses, to ensure the car was mechanically fit and required no additional costs once gifted to its new owner.

Engaging the help of Steve Phillips, Manager of CSF (Community Support Frankston), the pair set out to determine a family whom they knew would greatly benefit from such a gift. Steve and his team curated a shortlist of three deserving families, and over the span of a week, made the hard decision to determine the ‘right’ family.

Recounting the moment Steve made the announcement to the deserving mum, he explained, “Our mum and her young two girls have been through such a rough time this year. When we first told mum she didn’t believe us, she couldn’t believe that people could be so kind to a stranger. On behalf of the family, we’re so grateful to everyone that’s made this happen, it takes a community”.

After such a financially-strained year for many businesses, Arthur was surprisingly met with huge positivity when seeking support from local business, finding some happy to donate beyond the maintenance of the car. Now, in addition to the car the gift also includes a year’s worth of servicing and wheel alignment, a full year’s registration and car insurance.

‘This project has been such a blessing to undertake after the year we’ve all experienced. Everyone needs an opportunity to smile at the moment, and this entire process has provided endless smiles and ‘feel-good’ moments for myself and those involved’, explained Arthur.

‘It’s been awesome working with local businesses who have gone above and beyond to contribute, and we could not have undertaken this project without the tremendously large hearts of all involved’, Arthur continued.

Coming together on Thursday 24th December at AutoPlus Frankston, the Swift was gifted to the deserving family, simultaneously bringing the whole workshop to a standstill and setting the stage for a loving and memorable Christmas for not only the lucky mum, but her two gorgeous girls.
